The Lake-folk were a group of Northron inhabitants that lived in Esgaroth, located in the heart of the Long Lake.

History[]

The town of Esgaroth was constructed by the survivors of Dale, who had fled the terrible firestorm from the wrath of Smaug. For many years, the Lake-folk were ruled by an elective leader known as the Master. The Masters of all Lake-folk were to rule the Long Lake and were responsible for maintaining tolls, governing trade, and settling disputes.
